About – Laxmi Memorial College Of Nursing

Introduction

Laxmi Memorial College of Nursing was established in the year 1997 under the Laxmi Memorial EducationTrust with an aim to provide quality nursing education and prepare nurses with high level of professional competence. It is one of the beginning educational endeavours of L.M.E.T which is promoted by Shri. A.J. Shetty. The College is affiliated to Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences, Bangalore and is permanently recognised by the Indian Nursing Council [INC] New Delhi and Karnataka State Nursing Council Bangalore.

I value the bondage that we have built up with the corporate world through academic and placement associations, which are focused towards the synergy between Industry and Academy. The world is more dynamic than ever before. There is a sudden opening of the world economy to markets in both developed and developing countries and availability of technologies. As a result, current consumer preferences, product life cycles, employment concepts have undergone tremendous changes, because of which the challenges that the corporate world faces today are multi-dimensional.

While on the one hand there is a need to augment resources – both technological and human, to face the competition all over the world, on the other there is also a need to reduce increasing costs. ‘The best quality at the least cost’ seems to be the motto of the present day economic development. From the human resources stand point, this necessitates the emergence of young and effective managerial talent with an exposure to strategic specialization. Dear Aspirants, Laxmi Memorial College of Nursing situated in Mangalore, is a constituent of A.J.Group of group of Institutions along with medical, dental, management, hospitality colleges and various other paramedical courses. It has been fast growing as a centre of excellence in providing education and training in Nursing. We the faculty believe in providing board based education in nursing within a academic frame work specifically directed to the development of critical thinking skills, competencies and standards required for practice of professional nursing. The college is attached to A.J.Hospital and Research Center – a multi specialty hospital within the campus for clinical practicum.
