Student Nurses Association (SNA)

The Student Nurses’ Association is a nationwide organization that aims for reaping the best nurses by sowing the seeds right from the student period. To have a proper functioning of the group, all the areas of the group as well as all the members of the group have to be tied up together. SNA is one such organization which works for the overall upliftment of the students. The SNA was established in LMCN in 1997.

Azaadi - 70

Azadi 70- Yaad Karo Kurbani” (Freedom Fortnight) to re-instill the spirit of freedom struggle and national movement among the younger generation Indepence day was celebrated on 15th August 2016 at MBA girls hostel ground. Dr Jayaprakash ,Director of AJ Institute of Management, was the chief guest for the day. He motivated students to be better generation for future so that our country can grow with prosperity. Dr. Larissa Martha Sams enlightened students by reminding them the sacrifices of great freedom fighters and stressed on theme
“ Yaad karo Kurbani”.

A visit to museum:

To pay tribute to great warrior of Ullal, Mangalore : Rani Abakka who fought bravely with Portuguese in late 16th century. 2nd year Gnm students visited her Musuem in BC road, Bantwal. Management of the museum along with Mr.Tukaram explained students how this great fighter fought with Portuguese to bring freedom from slavery.

Breast Feeding Week

“There’s nothing quite so yummy as warm as milk from my mummy”

Breastfeeding or nursing is the feeding of babies  and young children  with milk  from a woman’s breast. Breast milk is made from nutrients in the mother’s bloodstream and bodily stores. Breastfeeding triggers biochemical reactions which allows for the enzymes, hormones, growth factors and immunologic substances to effectively defend against infectious diseases  for the infant. Deaths of an estimated 820,000 children under the age of five could be prevented globally every year with increased breastfeeding.

SNA LMCN observed breast feeding week at AJ Hospital in Post Natal ward on 5-8-16 with collaboration with TNAI – Mysore Zone.Dr.Vijayalaxmi Mogasale ,Senior resident stressed regarding importance of brest feeding.Dr.Larissa Martha sams addressed the gathering and Mrs.Raina Menezes enlightened the theme: Breast feeding – A Key To Sustainable Development.At end of the day brest feeding importance were distributed to the gathering.

The series of musical and cultural competitions ‘Kala-Sangam 2016’ was organized by Mangalore Musical and Cultural Association (MMCA)  where our students participated actively and to place cherry on top our students bagged overall rolling trophy at collegiate level for consecutive two years .

Onam Celebration

Onam is celebrated in the Malayalam month of Chingam. The 10-day-long harvest festival is celebrated from Atham to Thiruvonam. The festival marks the homecoming of mythical king Mahabali, who emerges from the netherworld to visit his people in Kerala.

Performance of a religious ceremony “ONAM’’ was celebrated with prosperity and happiness in LMCN. Mr.Rajesh Kankol ,Chief editor Manorama was chief guest for the programme.
