The Department of Mental Health Nursing of Laxmi Memorial College of Nursing, Balmatta, Mangaluru organized “A Time To Talk Day: Counselling Perspective” to the high school students and teachers of Government School Amblamogaru under Mangaluru south Block on 11th March 2023 .
The Chief Guest cum Resource person of the day was Dr Kavyashree K.B, Assistant Professor, Department of Psychology, St Agnes Centre For Post Graduate Studies and Research, Mangaluru. In her address to the students, she highlighted the mental health issues of the students and outlined the strategies for handling these issues by the students and developing healthy minds in healthy bodies. The Principal of Laxmi Memorial College of Nursing, Dr Larissa Martha Sams reiterated the importance of sharing the problems by talking to others by the students so that they do not feel lonely. The individual counselling session was conducted for nearly 20 students with specific problems by 8 counsellors. A meaningful video on the problems of students prepared by Ajil third-year GNM student was displayed. The invocation was by 2nd Year GNM students. The program was compered by Swathi, Lecturer, Department of Mental health Nursing. Refreshments were served to the students.
